SAN FRANCISCO: Autodesk Friday released a major update to SketchBook Pro software that has artists switching from pencils and paints to virtual canvasses on iPhones or iPad tablet computers.

SketchBook Pro 1.1, the first version of Alias’s painting and drawing app available for the Mac, is a simple tool designed to work with graphics tablets such as the Wacom Intuos2 ( ; February 2002 ).
